Consecrated on 22 August 2009 at Lodge Royal Pahang No. 1598 S.C., Lodge Darul Takzim No. 1836 S.C. holds the distinction of being Johor’s first Scottish Lodge. The meaning of its name is “Abode of Dignity”.

Under the exemplary leadership of its Founding Master, Bro. Robert Chan Mun Hon, the Lodge was brought together by 108 founding members who came together from not only our District’s 3 Constitutions, but Brethren from other Constitutions as well – Japan, Australia, Hong Kong. This diverse foundation established Darul Takzim as a true embodiment of Masonic unity and universality.

The Lodge is renowned for its unique “H.K. Neoh” Ritual, which is a harmonious blend of ceremonial elements from the Irish (1st Degree), English (2nd Degree), and Scottish (3rdDegree).

This distinctive ritual makes LDT one of only a select few Lodges in the District with such an enriched ritual tradition.

The Lodge’s regalia evolved from original of Johor’s tri-colour to the distinguished McLachlan tartan during the tenure of then R.W.M Bro. Richard Kho. Its emblem artfully combines the Square and Compasses for moral guidance, the Scottish thistle for heritage, and the Lodge’s motto “Let There Be Light” as the constant reminder for the pursuit of truth.

Now celebrating its 16th year, Lodge Darul Takzim continues to flourish through strong foundational values, dedicated mentorship from its Past Masters, and the closely knitted Brethren and their families.

The Lodge remains profoundly grateful to its founding members, the support of so many outstation Brethren, and unwavering support from its visitors which has shaped its distinctive character. As LDT looks towards its future, it draws inspiration from century-old Lodges while maintaining its unique identity with the harmonious blend of Brethren and traditions – always striving towards Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.
